I have been thinking this month about how I can use blogging as a classroom tool. This has been easy to think about in term of a long-term plan because I am not currently teaching in the classroom. This gives me the opportunity to ' play' with blogging i.e. viewing others blogs; benefits; pros and cons; best uses to name just a few. And most importantly becoming proficient in all the tools blogging has to offer.
I once thought blogging was just a one dimensional tool: you post your blog, people read your blog-end of story. It is much more than that now. Like much in terms of technology; it (blogging) is always evolving.

I see the return of the food pyramid. You have a central theme and a great cause. Your blog is a natural, maybe there's movie in it. Maybe Julia and Julie has taken that role for a while.
ReplyDeleteThere is the advantage of time when you're not teaching but planning to, but there's the disadvantage of less motivation. Laura, generate that motivation and put together this blog; create the plan and post it. Design a plan for promoting a blog about nutrition for an audience beyond the classroom, maybe for the parents as an audience, maybe for the entire student body. What a wonderful challenge to get the entire student body excited about discussing nutrition and good health in a blog. There's your motivation; show me.
